Cars these days are a very advanced piece of equipment. The better the fuel used the more powerful and efficient the car will run.

One of the most important parameters of gasoline (commonly known as petrol) is its octane. Octane is a measure of how much the fuel can be subjected to pressure and heat without self igniting. In a petrol engine the fuel is ignited by the spark plug. If the fuel ignites spontaneously on its own accord before the spark plug fires, the engine loses power and If left to persist for a long time the pistons and cylinder head of the engine will eventually be damaged. Severe cases of uncontrolled ignition of the petrol are heard as a mechanical tinkling noise commonly known as pinging or knocking. Under less severe conditions the fuel will burn at a faster rate than intended causing the engine to develop less power and lose efficiency.

The higher the octane rating of the petrol the more the fuel can suppress knocking. Therefore an engine running on a high octane gasoline will work smoother, be more efficient and will develop more power than a car running on a lower octane gasoline.

Conscious of these facts the Research and Development team of Enemed has been working on developing a gasoline with an octane rating higher than that of the current Premium grade. After months of development and testing, Enemed is now proud to introduce to its clients, the epower grade.

The main difference between the Premium unleaded gasoline and the epower gasoline is the octane rating. The Premium unleaded gasoline has a minimum octane number of 95.0 RON (Research Octane Number) and a minimum of 85.0 MON (Motor Octane Number), whereas the epower gasoline fuel has a minimum RON of 98.0 and a minimum MON of 87.0.

Q       Is epower fuel safe for all unleaded vehicles?

A       Yes. epower unleaded gasoline can be used in all vehicles running on gasoline (petrol engines). Higher octane value of the fuel, will improve the engine performance.

Q       What are the advantages of epower fuel?

A      epower gasoline fuel vaporizes more readily, thus burning completely and leaving no carbon residue behind. This leads to increased efficiency, power and less contamination.

Q       My owner’s manual says to use 95-octane in my car.Would it damage my car to use a higher octane fuel instead?

A      No. The octane stated in your owner’s manual is the minimum octane rating required by your vehicle. In fact, as your vehicle becomes older, it will need a higher octane fuel due to carbon buildup. In order to get the most out of the epower gasoline, retuning of the engine might be required.

Q       Can I use epower in high performance vehicles?

A      Yes. High performance vehicles normally have higher compression ratios than other normal engines. This necessitates the fuel to have higher octane so as to prevent engine knock (also commonly known as pinking).

Q       Can I use epower on vehicles with turbo chargers?

A       Yes. Vehicles with Turbo or Superchargers do not usually have high compression ratios. However, due to the power increase unit (the turbo or supercharger) they will require a higher octane.

Q       Can I use epower on modified automobiles?

A       Yes. As power increases the octane used must be increased to prevent knocking.

Q       Does the epower fuel meet the European standards?

A       Yes. The epower gasoline fuel is within the specifications of European standard, EN 228

Q       Can I use epower gasoline in an old car?

A      Yes. epower can be used if your car can run on unleaded gasoline. As your vehicle gets older, it needs higher octane fuel due to carbon buildup.

Q       Does epower reduce wear and tear?

A       Higher-octane fuels help to prevent the so-called ‘engine knock’, which is when unburned fuel pre-ignites in a vehicle’s engine often damaging interior components. The higher the RON content in fuel, the more likely it will be to burn in a controlled manner in the engine, thus lowering the chance of ‘knocking’.

Q       Does ePower gasoline improve performance?

A      Higher-octane fuels go well with high-performance engines where pressures and temperatures are higher. It can therefore be used to increase the amount of available horse power and improve performance.
